WESTBOURNE
TERRACE (6-30) RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION
c/o 16 Barness Court, 6-8 Westbourne Terrace, London W2 3UW
Terms and
Conditions of Parking in the private road fronting 6-30 Westbourne Terrace
1. WTRA (6-30) parking T&Cs cover parking in the private road in front of buildings 6-30 Westbourne
Terrace inclusive.
2. Parking is for the use of residents of the
buildings 6-30 Westbourne Terrace only.
3. Temporary permits will not usually be
issued to contractors (please contact us if you think there are special
circumstances).
4. A maximum of one vehicle and one motorcycle per flat can be parked at any one time.
5. Owners/landlords are ultimately responsible for
the correct use of issued permits.
6. The current cost of parking is £150 for cars1. The charge for motorcycles is £50. Please
note that neither charge is not pro-ratable for individual applications
made later in the year.
7. Any permit issued is strictly not for resale.
8. Residents may be asked to provide vehicle
registration documentation that shows the resident’s vehicle as
registered to the corresponding address.
9. Permits must at all times be on clear and full
display inside the windscreen2.
10. Anyone parking in the private road must agree to abide by the conditions
relating to proper waste disposal3.
11. The parking scheme operates on a pooling system
as a result of the cooperation of all buildings in the terrace.
Consequently, spaces cannot be reserved for individual residents and
parking in the terrace is therefore strictly subject to the
availability of parking spaces. The ability to park at any time cannot
be guaranteed.
12. The parking scheme also relies on the cooperation of residents to move their vehicles upon request when essential maintenance (such as road resurfacing and tree trimming) is due to take place in the private road.. Any resident failing to cooperate with such communal request may have their permit invalidated and lose his/her permission to park with immediate effect.
Notes:
1 The cost this year is £170. The medium term aim is to keep the charge in line with the cost of a Westminster ‘B’ permit
(currently £158) .
2 If you have been issued with a permit it is the
responsibility of the holder to display the permit inside the windscreen of the vehicle so
that the parking enforcement officers can easily inspect the details. Cars with permits not clearly and fully displayed in their
windscreen will be subject to a PCN, since this is the only way we can
successfully and fairly operate the scheme with the minimum
inconvenience to bona fide permit holders.
3 It is particularly
important to
keep the private road clear of all domestic refuse for a number of
reasons (including general hygiene, avoiding pedestrian obstruction).
Any resident found placing their rubbish on the pavement outside their
building instead of using the bins located in one of the basement
vaults of their building will have their parking permit invalidated and
will find their vehicle subject to clamping. CCTV is being installed in
the private road to monitor this and enhance security simultaneously.
It is only a minority of residents that continue to dispose of waste
incorrectly; however, it is extremely anti-social behaviour and must be
stopped if we are to achieve a cleaner, more respectable terrace.
Any permit found to have been used in a way that is in breach of any of
the conditions above will be invalidated and the corresponding vehicle
will no longer have perrmission to park in the private road.
